Job Title:
Community Liaison Coordinator
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Community Liaison Coordinator to manage relationships and partnerships that connect with Aboriginal communities. The role will design and deliver programs that assist Aboriginal communities to access services and develop staff skills.
The successful candidate will implement district workforce initiatives to increase Indigenous employment by overseeing the dissemination of information to Indigenous community members and management where relevant.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with Aboriginal communities, stakeholders, and partners.
- Design and deliver programs that address the needs of Aboriginal communities, improving access to services and developing staff skills.
- Implement district workforce initiatives to increase Indigenous employment, including disseminating information to Indigenous community members and management.
- Liaise with DCJ Divisions and non-government stakeholders to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design, and policy implementation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated project management experience and tertiary qualifications or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Highly desirable skills include sound judgment, sophisticated communication and negotiation skills, ability to work in tight timeframes, and experience in program design, management, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated cultural capability, which includes lived experience, knowledge, and understanding of contemporary social issues affecting Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people.
- Experience in building community consultation and engagement to increase access to services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and administering policies, services, or programs focused on positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Experience in developing staff awareness and skills to work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
