Opportunity Overview

As a Principal Maritime Structural Engineer, you will be involved in the design and planning of large-scale maritime facilities across various industries, including defence, local government, state government, ports, and sustainability projects. You will leverage your existing experience to lead technical delivery and work collaboratively with other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical delivery of new projects, applying expertise in structural design, reinforced concrete, and steel in marine environments.
  • Design, evaluate, and report on ports, harbours, coastal works, and marine structures, including wharves, jetties, port developments, marinas, seawalls, and pontoons.
  • Develop berthing and mooring systems and utilize structural analysis software, such as SPACE GASS, Strand 7, and IDEAStatica.
  • Collaborate with clients, including local governments and port authorities, to deliver projects that meet industry standards and codes.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced colleagues, driving innovation within the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Significant experience in structural design, reinforced concrete, and steel in marine environments.
  • Experience working with Australian and international design codes and guidelines.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or ability to obtain chartership within an agreed timeframe.
  • Tertiary degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Eligibility for Australian Government security clearance.
