Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel to join our team in providing high-quality legal services that support the organisation's strategic and operational goals.

The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of legal matters independently, provide expert legal advice to senior management and staff, and represent the Council in hearings and forums.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting complex legal documents including contracts, deeds, and voluntary planning agreements.
  • Guiding and mentoring junior legal staff.
  • Representing the Council in hearings and forums.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Law degree.
  • An Australian Practicing Certificate.
  • Experience in briefing external counsel and legal providers.
  • Knowledge of local government operations in New South Wales and relevant legislation.
