About Berry Street:
- We provide therapeutic services for children and young people who have suffered trauma, neglect and disrupted attachment.
The Opportunity:
- Shepparton location
- Part Time 0.5FTE, Permanent role
Berry Street has implemented the Teaching Family Model (TFM), an evidence-based holistic approach to supporting young people in out-of-home care.
As a Therapeutic Specialist, you will work closely with young people and Residential Care team members to facilitate reflective practice and build their knowledge of therapeutic parenting strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments and developing therapeutic treatment plans with clear goals reviewed regularly
- Working collaboratively with clients and care teams to achieve agreed goals within a specified timeframe
- Supporting staff to incorporate the Teaching Family Model in a therapeutic manner
Requirements:
- Sound decision-making skills and excellent clinical judgements
- A high degree of self-discipline to provide targeted clinical services within strict timeframes
You will have a demonstrated ability to provide complex direct services in the clinical assessment and treatment of children, young people, and families.
An appropriate Bachelor's degree level or higher qualification in a Health or Welfare-related field is required, along with significant experience conducting clinical work with children.
