Job Description">

Musica Viva Australia seeks a skilled Financial Analyst to join its team. As a key member of the Finance Department, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on the financial management of cost centres across all programs.

Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Manager, you will undertake a variety of compliance and accounting functions across all Musica Viva activities. This includes reviewing cost centre reports with business management each month, investigating variances, and providing commentary.

Additionally, you will assist in forecasting activities through analysis, reconcile revenue accounts between systems, and perform end-of-year financial reporting as required.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be highly organized with attention to detail. Experience in accounting software, preferably SAGE Intacct, and a high level of Excel knowledge are essential.

Responsibilities:
  • Review cost centre reports with business management each month.
  • Investigate cost centre variances and provide commentary.
  • Assist in forecasting activities through analysis.
  • Reconcile revenue accounts between Tessitura and the finance system.
  • Perform end-of-year financial reporting as required.
  • Provide monthly debtor and invoice status reports for Musica Viva In Schools (MVAIS) to State Managers.
  • End of Year reporting for MVAIS
  • Reconcile SAGE Intacct and Tessitura income reports
  • Reconcile number of concerts performed to concerts paid (by group, per region)
  • Create summary comparison spreadsheet for budget/forecast to actual
  • Calculate total of Equal Music subsidies provided to schools by region
  • Liaise with operations to accrue any outstanding costs
  • Provide final attendance and activity numbers for annual report
