Job Description:

About this Role:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of Mechanical engineering standards, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Establish and maintain Mechanical engineering design, construction, and operational standards, providing technical leadership and direction.
  • Arrange regular design certification reviews with senior engineers.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Review and approve Mechanical engineering drawings, calculations, and models, verifying adherence to established standards.
  • Monitor project designs and construction, ensuring alignment with established standards and codes.
  • Conduct regular design and engineering reviews to assess adherence to best practices and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical support for resolving non-conformance issues and offer expert guidance during design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Support decision-making processes by offering expertise on Mechanical engineering methodologies and staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development and implementation of Mechanical engineering standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  2. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and contractors to ensure the project's technical integrity.
  3. Assist in risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to engineering aspects.
  4. Participate in technical evaluations of vendors, materials, and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in Mechanical engineering, ideally in building infrastructure, mechanical services, including craneage.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant Mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Eligibility for accreditation as a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
