At McCain Foods, we are a leading manufacturer of frozen potato products, producing a significant portion of the world's supply. We are seeking a talented individual to spearhead product development and provide technical expertise in support of our value engineering initiatives across the ANZ region. This role involves engaging in a variety of projects from concept development to product launch, with a focus on enhancing product quality while optimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities- Drive teams to identify cost-saving opportunities related to raw materials, ingredients, and processes to enhance McCain's value proposition.
- Collaborate across functions to generate innovative raw material and ingredient value engineering ideas and develop comprehensive business cases for new initiatives.
- Engage with suppliers to assess performance and explore new technologies and cost-saving possibilities.
- Assist procurement in achieving savings on raw materials and ingredients, as well as identifying opportunities for strategic cost analysis and value engineering.
- Foster relationships within the organization to efficiently develop new projects and streamline business processes.
- Influence stakeholders across various functions and senior leadership to overcome challenges and achieve organizational goals.
- Lead technical teams as a program manager for complex initiatives, ensuring successful project execution.
- 7 - 10 years of relevant experience in research and development within the consumer goods sector, preferably in the food industry.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science & Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven expertise in product development, cost optimization, and manufacturing processes, with a track record in product commercialization.
- Strong business acumen and persuasive skills to secure project buy-in.
- Adept at anticipating challenges and managing project risks while maintaining a focus on execution.
- Creative problem solver with the ability to think outside the box.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive product development initiatives.
- Project management training or certification is advantageous.
- Successful candidates will exhibit technical depth, dynamic interaction across functions, and exceptional communication and project management capabilities.
