Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished General Practitioner to join our Emergency Department as a Visiting Medical Officer. The successful candidate will provide exceptional medical care, working closely with a dedicated team of specialists.

Main Responsibilities
  • To deliver high-quality patient care at all times.
  • To ensure seamless continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient services.
  • To provide comprehensive medical care to patients in the emergency department and inpatient settings.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Australian College of Rural Remote Medicine and/or overseas trained specialist pathways, or nearing completion of Fellowship.
  • Evidence of extensive experience in General Practice, including recent and comprehensive clinical expertise.
  • Completion or currently undertaking an Emergency Life Support course and proficiency in Emergency Medicine.
  • A proven track record of maintaining professional development and the ability to contribute to the growth and knowledge of other staff members.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for effective interaction with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • An ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary framework and work collaboratively with stakeholders across various settings.
  • A strong leadership background, flexibility in adapting to a changing health environment, and a history of past safety and quality improvement initiatives.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development, peer review, and other forms of clinical governance.
  • A passion for advocating individual and societal health through contributions to improving healthcare standards.
