Aviation Warfare Officer Instructor

Position Overview

CAE Australia is in search of a qualified Aviation Warfare Officer (AvWO) to enhance the MH-60R training framework.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide tactical instruction focused on modern tactics, techniques, and procedures to pilot, AvWO, sensor operator trainees, and operational teams utilizing MH-60R training devices. This includes conducting briefings, debriefings, and preparing sortie reports.
  2. Conduct tactical ground-school sessions based on contemporary tactics, techniques, and procedures for pilot, AvWO, and sensor operator trainees, employing existing course materials through Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) and Instructor Guided Reviews (IGR).
  3. Contribute to the design and enhancement of mission scenarios to optimize training outcomes.
  4. Support the ongoing evaluation and certification of MH-60R training devices, including new or modified systems, system configuration upgrades, and engineering change proposals (ECP).
  5. Assist in the assessment of relevant training course control documents (Curriculum).

Ideal Candidate Profile

  1. Demonstrated instructional experience in an aircrew training setting (Recent experience as an MH-60R Instructor or Evaluator is preferred).
  2. A minimum of 500 hours of military flying experience as an AvWO.
  3. Background in anti-submarine and surface warfare operations.
  4. Experience in simulator instruction on military rotary wing platforms.
  5. Familiarity with airborne dipping sonar operations.

Security Clearance Requirements

As a key client of the Australian Department of Defence, eligibility for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance is required, with a preference for candidates who already possess a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
