Pathology Collector Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Pathology Collectors to work in residential homes and aged care facilities, servicing the Taree and Wingham areas.

Part-time and Casual positions available.

As a Pathology Collector, you will be responsible for taking blood and other specimens from patients, including performing ECGs and Holter monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Venepuncture experience essential with vacutainer method

  • Collection of blood and other samples from patients in residential homes and aged care facilities.
  • Experience in ECGs and Holter monitors
  • Processing of Pathology Specimens
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a busy team
  • Clerical duties and Process paperwork
  • Current NSW driver licence
  • Ability to communicate with the team, referring Doctors and patients
  • Ability to provide dedication to patient care and service delivery
  • Ability to demonstrate organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to priorities and work under pressure
  • Comply with Work Health and Safety

Requirements

Required qualifications include:

  • A strong understanding of OH&S/WHS principles
  • A valid Working With Children (WWC) Check
  • A valid Police Check (National Police Certificate)
  • The right to work in Australia
  • Minimum 1 year's experience as a Pathology Specimen Collector
  • Customer service experience
  • A current Australian driver's licence
  • A Certificate III in Pathology Collection (desired)
