Senior Mental Health Clinician in Assertive Suicide Prevention Outreach Team

This role involves working in a dynamic multidisciplinary team to support individuals in crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver expert mental health care to consumers, focusing on suicide prevention and intervention.
  • Collaborate with the SPOT team to develop and implement strategies for supporting individuals at risk of suicide.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, clients, and staff to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes to enhance service outcomes.
  • Contribute to a multi-disciplinary team environment, applying advanced reasoning and independent professional judgment in complex situations.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in social work, occupational therapy, psychology, or nursing with postgraduate qualifications.
  • Extensive clinical experience in suicide and mental health interventions, including knowledge of consumer-focused practices in a community health setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to engage proactively with patients/clients and staff.
  • Lived experience of suicidal thoughts or attempts, or caring for someone who is or has been suicidal.
  • Commitment to reducing suicides in the community through collaborative practice and innovation.
