About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our Technology Integration team in Cameron Park NSW.

Ampcontrol's specialist Automation team offers our customers in the mining, water, tunnelling, infrastructure, utilities, and energy sectors the benefit of combined engineering and technology capabilities, primarily in the areas of automation, process control, and software and communications technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, commission, modify, and maintain control systems, control networks, and related technology for Ampcontrol's customers and clients.
  • Bridge the gap between operational and information technology (OT/IT) and master the multi-disciplined requirements of an industry 4.0 driven environment.
  • Work will be divided between office-based development, site-based field service work, and ad-hoc on-call support functions.
About You

Your willingness to get hands-on in a diverse engineering environment will be complemented by the following:

  • Safety as a core value
  • PLC and SCADA programming skills (competency with Contrologix and Unity (PLC), Citect SCADA, Factory Talk View, Clear SCADA, Siemens, Beckhoff preferred)
  • Some understanding of industrial networking and bus systems
  • Process control and automated systems knowledge
  • Experience with electrical switchgear and control systems
  • Exposure to control system network design for mining, industrial, or power distribution sectors
  • Skills and expertise in networking and communications (CISCO, Microsoft certifications), programming, and project delivery – advantageous
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of multidiscipline teams
Requirements
  • Diploma, Advanced Diploma Electrical Engineering OR Degree qualifications in Electrical/Electronic/Computer or Mechatronic Engineering OR Electrical/Electronic Technicians with generous PLC/SCADA experience will also be considered.
  • Electrical or Electronic trade certificate – advantageous but not mandatory
  • Project Management qualification – advantageous but not mandatory
