Customer Success in a Rapidly Evolving Landscape

We are seeking an exceptional Enterprise Data Architect to join our team as a Senior Customer Success Technical Architect at Confluent, Inc.

About the Role

In this pivotal position, you will serve as the primary technical champion for our enterprise customers, providing expert guidance and support to ensure their success with Confluent's industry-leading data streaming platform.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Advocating for customer needs within Confluent, collaborating closely with Sales, Product, Services, Support, and Training teams to drive customer satisfaction.
  • Developing and presenting regular customer reviews to senior management, highlighting areas of improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Leveraging your extensive knowledge of Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform to address complex customer issues, working alongside Support Engineers and Core Engineering teams as needed.
  • Sharing your expertise with Support Engineers and Professional Services teams to enhance their ability to serve customers effectively.
  • Informing Confluent's product roadmap by leveraging insights from your customers' environments and use cases.
  • Providing in-depth analysis and presenting periodic reviews of operational performance to customer leadership, identifying trends and areas for optimization.
  • Collaborating with customers to develop best practices for using Confluent Platform, promoting successful adoption and utilization.
  • Offering proactive recommendations to prevent issues and ensure customer success through professional services engagements, training sessions, and on-site visits.
The Ideal Candidate

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated success in Customer Success, Customer Support, or Professional Services for a product/SaaS company with enterprise customers.
  • A strong desire to tackle complex technical problems, with proven ability to do so with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling you to explain intricate issues and solutions concisely.
  • Experience with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning and troubleshooting, as well as Linux configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication capabilities, demonstrated through successful B2B infrastructure software development projects.
  • Project management experience, with the ability to coordinate across various Confluent teams to ensure account success.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, such as engineering, mathematics, or quantitative disciplines.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity within a fast-paced, deadline-oriented start-up environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and delivering results across various initiatives.
  • Previous experience helping customers build solutions that integrate Apache Kafka with Hadoop, relational databases, NoSQL databases, message queues, and related products.
  • Prior experience working in a technology start-up environment.
  • Proficiency in Java and distributed systems.
