Public Art Project Officer

We are seeking a motivated and creative individual to lead the development of public art projects in our community. The Public Art Project Officer will be responsible for delivering high-quality projects that enhance the aesthetic appeal of public spaces and reflect the local identity.

Main Responsibilities
  • Plan, commission, and deliver public art mural projects that meet the community's expectations.
  • Collaborate with artists, curators, local organizations, and Council staff to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Develop strong relationships with community stakeholders to reflect local identity in public artworks.
  • Facilitate community consultation and engagement to ensure public art reflects local values and identity.
  • Support community engagement, consultation, and promotion of mural projects.
  • Contribute to the municipal-wide mural site selection process, including criteria development and stakeholder mapping.
  • Maintain and document artworks to ensure their longevity.
  • Assist with contract administration, risk assessment, and compliance with Council policies.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in public art, arts administration, community development, or visual arts.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering public art or community arts projects.
  • Strong project management skills, including coordinating with artists and managing budgets and timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
