Job Title: Indigenous Graduate Career Advancement

We are committed to making graduate positions accessible to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders. This program offers a unique opportunity for individuals of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage to develop their skills and pursue a career in the public sector.

The Treasury graduate program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the department's operations and policies. As a participant, you will gain exposure to various areas of the department, working on projects that contribute to shaping the future of Australia.

Eligibility Requirements
  • You must be a person of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage
  • You must provide confirmation of your heritage prior to an offer
  • You must be an Australian citizen (or become an Australian citizen by December 2026)
  • You must hold an Australian-recognised undergraduate qualification (bachelor's degree or higher), completed, or to be completed within the last 5 years
Program Structure

The program consists of three 8-month rotations across different work areas, providing you with the opportunity to gain diverse experience and build a strong foundation for your career.

Learning and Development Opportunities
  • You will have access to face-to-face development opportunities, including university-facilitated workshops and Treasury subject matter expert sessions
  • You will have a clear pathway for career progression as your capability develops
  • You will complete formal learning and development opportunities, including six 2-day external workshops and four peer coaching sessions each year
