Job Summary:

Weir Minerals is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior CAD-CAM CNC Technical Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for creating new 3D pattern and corebox CAD models, as well as managing the updates of existing programs to ensure compliance with released drawings from Engineering.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD & CNC programming modeling, recognized tertiary qualifications (Patternmaker/Machinist/CNC Programmer), and a sound knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and practices.

About the Role:

  • Generate 3D CAD models of patterns and coreboxes designed to be safe for use in foundry metal casting environment.
  • Design and publish timber preform templates.
  • Ensure all patterns etc. are of the correct dimensions and to the latest revision.
  • Effective management of pattern model library within Teamcenter environment.
  • Create 2D CAD drawings for foundry specific jigs and fixtures.
