Childcare Cook

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Childcare Cook to join our team at G8 Education Ltd. As a key member of our centre, you will play a vital role in supporting the nutritional needs of the children in our care.

1. Meal Planning and Preparation: Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks that are healthy, varied, and appealing to young children, taking into account their dietary needs and preferences.
2. Food Safety and Hygiene: Ensure all food is stored, handled, and served safely, following all relevant food safety regulations and guidelines.
3. Menu Development: Collaborate with our Educators to develop menus that meet the dietary needs of the children, including any allergies or cultural requirements.
4. Kitchen Management: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including managing food and equipment inventory, and ensuring that all kitchen equipment is in good working order.
5. Team Collaboration: Work closely with our Educators to support the overall health and well-being of the children, and to ensure that all meals and snacks are served in a timely and efficient manner.

1. A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role.
2. A current Working with Children's Check and First Aid certification.
3. Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
4. Demonstrated experience cooking in a licensed childcare centre or similar setting.
5. Knowledge of child nutrition and food safety regulations.
6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
