Job Title: Laboratory Operations Manager
Description:
The Science Division is seeking a skilled and experienced Laboratory Operations Manager to oversee the management of laboratory operations, compliance, audit, and safety programs. This includes guiding laboratory users on lab safety, quality, and culture, as well as providing day-to-day management of monitoring operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage laboratory operations, including purchasing, resource allocation, sample management, waste management, and licensing
- Implement and manage programs to ensure compliance with laboratory standards, operating models, accreditations, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and implement overarching policies and procedures for the operation of laboratories
- Oversee an overarching quality management system and conduct routine inspections, tests, and audits
- Provide insights into new developments in laboratory science and incorporate them into the lab's operations
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary degree or qualifications in Laboratory Techniques or a related discipline
- Experience in operating a facility to laboratory safety regulations and quality standards
- Experience using Quality Management Systems and ISO 17025, NATA accreditation process
- Proven knowledge and experience with OHS and WHS legislation, regulations, and policies
- High level communications and organisational skills
