Dispute and Risk Officer

We are seeking a skilled Dispute and Risk Officer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day transaction dispute related administrative tasks, providing customer service, and monitoring merchant transactions for unusual or suspicious activity.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Chargeback Management: Handle chargebacks and direct debit claims in accordance with internal policies and scheme standards.
  • Customer Support: Respond to client inquiries regarding chargebacks or claims in a prompt, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Deadlines: Meet deadlines to respond to payment schemes to increase recovery ratios and minimize losses.
  • Transaction Monitoring: Review and analyze transactional activity through transaction monitoring systems within payment platforms and take action as needed.
  • Department Support: Contribute to the general running of the department by monitoring merchant activity, requesting information from merchants, and assisting internal stakeholders.
  • Risk Assessment: Assess risk, acceptability, and compliance of merchant activity against Global Payments guidelines and policies.
Requirements:
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience in the payments industry or related experience within applied payment dispute management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Collaboration: Capability to collaborate and exchange information in a small team environment and with internal partners.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize non-obvious patterns and think outside the box. They will also be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and develop a good understanding of different business models and potential risks associated with those activities.
