Secondary Learning Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated individual to support the implementation of quality learning practices across our school and provide assistance to students with extra learning needs.


About the Role

This position involves working collaboratively with teachers and staff to create a productive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for all students. The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), utilizing Assistive Technology and strategies to support student learning, both one-on-one and in-class.


Key Responsibilities
  • Providing academic and social support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and reporting as required
  • Conducting small group or individual lessons as needed

Requirements
  1. A Certificate III or IV in Learning Support (Education Support) or equivalent qualification
  2. Special Education Support training or experience as a Learning Assistant or Teacher's Aid in Primary (K-6) or Secondary (7-12)
  3. A committed Christian actively involved in their local church
  4. Knowledge of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005

Desirable Qualities
  • Willingness to work towards or have completed a Cert III or Cert IV in Learning Support (Education Support) or equivalent qualification
  • Ability to contribute to a strengths-based educational framework, blending with the Christian Worldview and Strategic Goals of our school
  • Pastoral and interpersonal skills

Location

The position is based in a picturesque rural setting in regional NSW, offering a great balance of country living and easy access to city amenities.
