About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Wellbeing Support Worker to work with students in the Burdekin region. As a Student Wellbeing Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to students and families facing various challenges.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing student needs and developing effective care plans
  • Connecting students and their families with relevant resources and services
  • Advocating for student rights and promoting social justice
  • Providing emotional and wellbeing support through individual or group sessions

The Student Wellbeing Workforce aims to ensure every Queensland primary and secondary state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Providing professional support and information for students, parents, carers, and school communities
  • Using evidence-based intervention strategies to support young people experiencing challenges with mental health and social and emotional wellbeing
  • Facilitating referrals to other allied health professionals and services
  • Supporting school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies
