Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Academic Lecturer to join our Department of Politics, Media, and Philosophy at La Trobe University. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of our comprehensive Politics and International Relations curriculum, engaging students through innovative teaching methods.

About the Role

This full-time Lecturer position (Level B) is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about Politics and International Relations. You will have the chance to design and develop subject curricula, enhance the student experience with creative learning methods, and collaborate with colleagues in a diverse academic environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Deliver high-quality learning experiences for students in subjects like POL1AUP: Introduction to Politics and core Politics subjects.
  • Subject Content Development: Develop and review subject content, including online and blended formats.
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Provide constructive feedback, evaluate learning outcomes, and contribute to assessment tasks.
Essential Criteria
  • A PhD in Politics, International Relations, or another relevant discipline (submitted for examination), preferably with expertise in Australian and comparative politics.
  • Proven experience in teaching and curriculum development, with positive feedback from students.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.
  • Familiarity with La Trobe's LMS, including assessment marking and feedback.
Estimated Salary

$83,125 - $107,679 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
