We are seeking an exceptional teacher and active researcher to lead professional experience in our initial teacher education (ITE) programs. As Academic Director of Professional Experience, you will serve as a key figure in shaping the educational experience of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching: Develop and deliver courses in initial teacher education programs, engage in curriculum design, and contribute to accreditation processes.
- Research: Establish and develop a research program, collaborate on research projects, and publish in reputable journals.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise honours and HDR students, provide performance feedback and training, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
- Citizenship and Service: Support students on placement, coordinate professional experience activities, and develop partnerships.
- Completion of a PhD in a relevant education or related field.
- Experience supporting preservice teachers during professional experience on ITE programs.
- Familiarity with Teacher Performance Assessments such as the GTPA and QTPA.
- Evidence of high-quality teaching in courses related to professional experience in ITE programs.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with schools, with strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
- A clear and ambitious research agenda, with demonstrated engagement in research funding applications, and a track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
- Capacity to supervise Honours and/or Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
