About The Role

The Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the successful operation of the Maxwell Underground Mine, a key asset in our portfolio. Reporting to the General Manager, this position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Longwall operation, including safety, production, and budget management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement strategic plans to drive operational excellence and achieve business objectives.
  2. Lead a team of professionals to ensure safe and efficient operation of the Longwall mine, meeting legislative and regulatory requirements.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring effective risk management and compliance with industry standards.
  4. Develop and manage annual operating plans, aligning with long-term objectives and ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategy.
  5. Provide regular updates to the Board on operational performance and key initiatives.
  6. Lead the development and implementation of the Health and Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in mining engineering and operations management, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. A can-do attitude, hands-on approach, and ability to challenge the norm will be essential in this role. Tertiary qualifications combined with a Mining Engineering Managers Certificate of Competency for NSW Underground coal are essential.
