Accounting Trainee Opportunity

The role of accounting trainee is perfect for someone who wants to develop their skills in local government finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain financial ledgers, including accurate and timely data entry and reconciliation.
  • Support treasury functions by assisting with cash management, budget preparation, and financial reporting.
  • Process general ledger journals and maintain asset register data.
  • Assist with internal and external audit activities.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary studies in Accounting, Commerce, Business or Finance, preferably in the final or penultimate year.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Motivated and eager to learn, with an interest in local government finance.
