Domestic Cleaning and Food Services Assistant

Are you looking for an opportunity to join our team in providing high-quality support services?

National Capital Private Hospital is seeking casual staff for the Support Services Team. We are looking for enthusiastic people to work across the positions of Domestic Cleaning/Food Services.

The hospital is a 148-bed accredited facility located in central Canberra, co-located on the Canberra Hospital campus in Garran.

Ideal candidates would have previously worked in a similar environment and possess excellent communication skills. However, experience in this role is not essential as all training will be provided.

You will play a key role in providing support and assistance to nursing staff, cleaning duties which include cleaning of patient rooms and handing out of patient meals.

As a Support Services Assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high standards of food and cleaning services
  • Operating in line with infection control standards and WHS policies and procedures
  • Delivering excellent customer service to staff, clients, and patients

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in a Hospital/Hotel/Aged Care setting may be an advantage
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work without supervision as well as part of a team
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Must have the right to work in Australia
