About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled System Safety Manager to join our UH-60M Black Hawk team in Enoggera, QLD.


Key Responsibilities

  • Apply system safety techniques to new design activities, including Preliminary Hazard Identification, System Requirements/Hazard Analysis, and Health Hazard Analysis.
  • Perform System Safety Risk Assessments in support of technical and design hazards identified during UH-60M operation and maintenance.
  • Manage the UH-60M Hazard Log and facilitate Platform and Project level System Safety Working Groups.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure robust consultation and communication of risks and associated controls.
  • Provide support to Incident/Accident Investigations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft systems and sub-systems.
  • Prior experience coordinating safety programs under the DASR framework, particularly DASR Part 21.
  • A strong working knowledge of obligations under the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2011.
  • Experience in the provision of System Safety Management support for In-Service Capability.
  • A strong working knowledge of 'Department of Defense standard Practice: System Safety' [MIL-STD-882E] and its application to the lifecycle of a system.
  • Excellent communication, team work and conflict resolution skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Prior experience working on a rotary wing program.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng, Engineers Australia).
