Civil Roads Inspector Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Civil Roads Inspector to join our team at Civil Services Group. As a Civil Roads Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting the construction of asphalt roadworks to Transport and Main Roads' (DTMR) quality specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use comprehensive knowledge of TMR policies, standards, and specifications to ensure quality control.
  • Prepare written documents, including daily diaries, submissions, reports, and test results.
  • Communicate with contractors, contract administrators, senior engineers, and principals' representatives to ensure progress and quality of works.
  • Provide effective administration, surveillance, and recording of documentation generated during construction, including photos.

Mandatory Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 to 10 years' experience in a related field, including laborer, foreman, and/or supervisor roles, and at least 1 to 2 years as a Civil Roads Inspector or Surveillance Officer on civil roads infrastructure construction projects.

Requirements:

  • Computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, file management, and email.
  • Ability to use a phone or tablet to record photographic evidence of site-based work preparation, undertaken, or finalized.
  • Demonstrable computer or tablet-based diarising or reporting software skills.
  • Driver's license and access to own transport to/from home to site and mobile phone.
