Key Responsibilities
  • Primary Medical Services: Provide high-quality medical care to patients in a rural setting, including routine check-ups, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Public Health Services: Utilize a community development model to enhance health outcomes, improve services, and infrastructure in the community.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Provide an holistic approach to healthcare, including care planning and case conferencing with patients who have chronic diseases.
  • Medical Retrieval and Patient Travel Services: Coordinate medical retrieval and patient travel services, including tasking Care flight aircraft and crew.
  • Health Information Management: Participate in the collection and maintenance of computerized client health information, including Medicare billing.
  • Medicare Optimization: Ensure that Medicare billing is optimized to its full potential to realize maximum return to the community for service development.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with a range of health providers within the organization and external to the organization.
  • Health Promotion and Education: Undertake programs and tasks appropriate to family and preventative medicine and Primary Health Care within a community and health education context.
Requirements
  • Essential Criteria: Strong verbal and written communication skills, Vocational Registration (FRACGP, FACRRM, FRNZCGP), Full Australian Work Rights, General Practice experience in Australia, and Passion and commitment to providing a high level of care to patients.
