Parliamentary News Editor Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Parliamentary News Editor in Canberra at Australian Parliament House.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive parliamentary intelligence services to clients, curating and publishing timely public-source news materials, anticipating and alerting subscribers to real-time news updates, writing concise and engaging editorials, and collaborating with teams to ensure top-notch content quality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Curate and publish relevant news materials
  • Anticipate and alert subscribers to breaking news updates
  • Write engaging editorials that capture the essence of current events
  • Collaborate with teams to deliver high-quality content

Requirements:

  • Recent graduate experience in Law, Politics or Media
  • Prior content production, copy editing or publishing experience
  • Excellent attention to detail, deadline management skills, time management skills, organizational abilities, and a collaborative spirit
  • Flexibility to work flexible hours to suit the Parliamentary schedule and team roster
