About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced National Facilities Manager to join our team at Metcash. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of facility management services, repairs & maintenance on our leasehold & freehold property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expert for Facilities Management (FM) across the Metcash portfolio, ensuring our lease and legal obligations are fulfilled from an FM perspective
  • Lead, manage and develop the Facilities Manager (direct report)
  • Manage R&M issues efficiently to minimize any disruption to trade in a sustainable and cost effective way
  • Implementation of our new FM Platform in conjunction with the project manager
  • Working alongside Treasury and Sustainability to deliver favourable outcomes and targets
  • Oversee various build projects across the business
  • Oversee the creation of Preventative Maintenance Plans for each asset within the portfolio
  • Complete pre-purchase asset inspections and provide recommendations
  • Complete pre-disposal makegood assessments and negotiate settlements with landlords

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a facilities or SME in Essential Services
  • Degree level qualification is advantageous
  • High level problem solving ability, proactive approach and strategic mindset
  • Ability to multi task and run numerous job/projects at the same time
  • Strong technical knowledge / background, specifically experience with hard services
  • Strong Analytical and reporting skills
  • Experience in managing contractors (hiring, terminating, compensation, and performance evaluation)
  • Experience in implementing standardized maintenance programs at local/regional and national levels
