We are seeking a skilled VR General Practitioner to join our team in the Nowra area, Illawarra region. The successful candidate will be working in a teaching practice affiliated with RACGP/ACRRM and the University of Wollongong for medical student teaching.

Job Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced GP to work in a bulk-billing practice with a clinical mentor and induction period. As a full-time VR General Practitioner, you will provide patient care and work approximately 1 weekend per month on rostered duty.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment.
  • Work closely with nurses to utilise dedicated treatment room services for various procedures.
  • Deliver chronic disease management and mental health support in conjunction with practice nurses and a mental health nurse.
  • Participate in maternity/shared care arrangements with obstetricians and hospital maternity services.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures such as excisions, biopsies, removal of foreign bodies, Implanon insertion, IV fluids, catheterisation, plaster application, IV antibiotics, allergy desensitisation, wedge resections, nail removals, suturing, resuscitation, and stabilization as needed.
  • Contribute to teaching and Fellowship preparation with a clinical mentor and participate in an accredited RACGP/ACRRM training program and university teaching partnerships.
Essential Criteria:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Vocational Registration (FRACGP | FACRRM | FRNZCGP) and full Australian work rights.
  • General Practice experience in Australia.
  • Passion and commitment to providing high-quality care to patients.
