Mental Health Nursing Opportunities

This is a locum nursing role for an experienced Mental Health Registered Nurse to work in various hospitals across Northern NSW.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Nursing Care: Deliver comprehensive care to individuals with acute and chronic mental health needs.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centred care.
  • Support and Supervision: Support patients and families in decision-making, advocacy, and discharge planning. Supervise and mentor ENs and AINs as required.
  • Clinical Quality and Improvement: Contribute to clinical quality, safety, and improvement initiatives.
  • Communication: Provide clear and confident communication, particularly when discussing risks and patient safety.

Requirements:

  • Registration and Experience: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and minimum 3 years' mental health nursing experience.
  • Clinical Skills and Communication: Strong clinical and risk management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a private hospital setting, with professionalism and teamwork.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Experience in drug and alcohol nursing, previous private mental health hospital experience, and confidence in patient advocacy and communicating risks.
