Strategic Portfolio Leader

As a Strategic Portfolio Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's future by ensuring strategic objectives are met through high-value decision-making.

You will provide oversight and guidance on where resources are allocated to achieve maximum commercial impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a comprehensive view of strategic initiatives across various business units.
  • Develop, evaluate, and review business cases and initiative estimates, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and robust commercial rationale.
  • Establish frameworks and processes to track actual versus expected benefits of portfolio investments, driving tangible outcomes.
  • Contribute to annual planning processes, ensuring strategic alignment and effective resource allocation.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with senior stakeholders across business units, providing strategic advice on portfolio management best practices.
  • Drive proactive decision-making through regular portfolio reporting, providing clear insights and early escalation of risks and delivery concerns.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities using strong commercial understanding to ensure optimal capital allocation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic portfolio management, corporate strategy development, commercial finance, or enterprise PMO function with a strategic focus.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, managing complex financial and strategic information.
  • Strong commercial acumen and deep understanding of value-based decision-making and capital allocation principles.
  • Experience supporting annual planning cycles and delivering portfolio-level reporting to executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse functions and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous environments and contribute to emerging practices.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, articulating complex concepts clearly and concisely.
