The Job

We're looking for a skilled Safety Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you will monitor and support the safety function under general supervision to provide support and coordination of safety practices, systems and procedures.

You will implement safety programs for project employees, assist with workers compensation claims and rehabilitation processes, conduct safety inspections and monitoring work areas, establish positive working relationships with project personnel and raise awareness of safety risks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the project management team with operational tasks.
  2. Implement safety protocols for project employees.
  3. Manage workers compensation claims and rehabilitation processes.
  4. Investigate incidents and accidents.
  5. Inspect and monitor work areas.
  6. Build strong relationships with project personnel and raise awareness of safety risks.
  7. Develop safety communications and records for project safety meetings.
  8. Document safety program activities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  1. A Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
  2. Construction safety management experience (3+ years).
  3. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls.
  4. Experience monitoring, reviewing and performing compliance inspections.
  5. Skills in safety management techniques and tools.
