Exciting Opportunity for a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice

Western Truck Repairs, a renowned brand in the heavy vehicle smash repair industry and a division under AMA Group - Heavy Motors, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their team as a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice.

As a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and develop your skills in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults on diesel engines. You will also be responsible for performing quality control and inspection of trucks, ensuring that all vehicles meet the highest standards of safety and quality.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be willing to learn and take direction, and have a genuine desire to build a career in the heavy motor repair industry. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections and complete damage reports as per company procedures
  • Carry out mechanic diagnosis, repair and replacements as required
  • Perform repairs and refurbishing of recycled parts to required quality standards
  • Ensure no vehicle or component is ever refitted or supplied if not safe to do so
  • Upon request carry out minor/small repairs as per Job Sheet
Requirements:
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate PPE is worn at all times
  • Handle all company tools and equipment with due care and attention ensuring they remain safe, clean and in a workable condition
  • Complete all course theory work by the due date as required
