Workshop Operations Manager Role Overview

The Workshop Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of fleet and machinery. This position involves overseeing workshop performance, vehicle and equipment maintenance, cost recovery, quality, and compliance.

This leadership role combines customer service excellence and operational efficiency, requiring high standards and a focus on safe and effective site management.

  • Manage daily activities of employees to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
  • Coach and counsel staff to maintain job results and uphold high standards.
  • Exemplify safety leadership behaviours and monitor programs to achieve a safe culture.
  • Control workflow for minimum downtime and maximum output.
  • Anticipate customer needs and enhance the service experience.
  • Establish and maintain work systems for effective team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage workshops to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Oversee employee performance and provide coaching and counseling as needed.
  • Implement safety protocols and monitor compliance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers to understand their needs and expectations.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members.
Requirements:
  • 5 years proven experience in workshop management within Fleet or Retail.
  • Demonstrated ability working within fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Inventory management, procurement, and stock control history.
  • Strong team player with excellent customer service skills.
  • Flexible approach to business commitments.
