Job Description:
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the transport operations and asset management functions within our region. As Transport Operations and Asset Management Specialist, you will be responsible for directing daily operations, overseeing budgets, implementing asset standards, managing our transport arrangements, and ensuring full compliance with legislation, policies, and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational leadership for road maintenance, transport, pavement, and drainage services.
- Develop, implement, and monitor levels of service and operations plans in alignment with asset management principles, regional needs, and resource requirements.
- Handle customer requests per policy and service standards, ensuring timely and consistent regional response.
- Lead negotiations and management of transport contracts with key stakeholders.
- Support achievement of Council's Corporate and Operational Plan objectives.
- Deliver technical advice to senior management and team members.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- Proven highly developed managerial and supervisory skills, including contemporary techniques such as team building, quality assurance, total quality management, and time management.
- Highly developed communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, including interpersonal, oral, and written abilities, with a solution-focused mindset.
- A strategic and operational understanding of transport operations and asset management principles.
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or relevant experience in Road Construction and Maintenance.
- Construction white card.
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
