Crew Leader Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Crew Leader to join our team in the City of Moreton Bay.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and working alongside a small team of labourers and machine operators to deliver assigned maintenance tasks on Council's road network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of onsite daily operational delivery of rural unsealed road maintenance or rural road shoulder maintenance activities
  • Providing guidance and technical support to an operational team - including external contractors
  • Carrying out general labouring tasks as required
  • Detecting relative defect causes to propose effective solutions
  • Leading in identifying and allocating necessary resources/materials for task completion
  • Use technology/software to update and manage work orders and administrative tasks
Requirements:
  • Recent hands-on experience in unsealed roads and/or shoulder maintenance
  • Experience working with similar machines and leading people
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to perform manual tasks in safety-oriented environments
  • Proficiency with relevant technology
  • Capability to handle basic administrative duties
  • A current truck licence (minimum medium rigid - MR)
  • A Construction Induction card (or be willing to obtain prior to commencement)
  • A Certificate III in Civil Construction or a similar qualification in a relevant field
  • A Traffic Management Implementation licence and a high risk work dogging (HRW DG) licence (or be willing to obtain within 6 months of commencement)
