Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Full-time Hostel Manager to join our team at Wake Up Byron Bay. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hostel's operations, ensuring guest satisfaction, and promoting the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee daily hostel operations, including managing staff, maintaining the online reservation system, and ensuring accuracy of information.
  • Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and tour operators, upholding high standards and quality in all aspects of the business.
  • Train and develop staff, prepare costed proposals for potential clients, and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Maintain and coordinate implementation of daily, weekly, and monthly hostel tasks, including cash handling, recycling, and waste disposal.
  • Be available on call to cover emergency out-of-hours situations and ensure the efficient running of the hostel.
Requirements:
  • A relevant Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, assessment, and the ability to quickly create rapport.
  • A strong focus on customer service, with excellent administration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to plan, organize, and coordinate tasks under pressure.
Benefits:

This is a full-time position with a competitive remuneration package between $70,000 - $80,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
