This role oversees mining department plans, contributes to life-of-mine strategies, and manages operating, capital, and manpower budgets to align with site objectives.
Responsibilities:- Plan, coordinate, and execute day-to-day open pit mining activities, including personnel, equipment, and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the mining department, ensuring alignment with company objectives and site targets.
- Manage budgets, costs, and resources to optimize productivity and efficiency.
- Lead a diverse team of mining professionals, fostering a culture of safety, respect, and continuous improvement.
- Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Unrestricted Quarry Manager's Certificate of Competency or First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
- Proven experience in contract mining environments, managing large teams, and influencing stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of budgeting, capital allocation, and cost management.
- Proficiency in public speaking, presentation skills, and influential leadership.
