Job Title: Painting Trades Worker

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painting Trades Worker to join our team at AP Creative Pty Ltd.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires a high level of attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and painting surfaces, selecting the correct tools and paints for projects, and ensuring high-quality finishes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Select and apply the correct paints and coatings for projects.
  • Prepare and prime surfaces for painting, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Mix and apply paint, varnish, shellac, and other finishes to achieve the desired effect.
  • Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.
  • Clean walls to ensure proper paint adhesion.
  • Cover exposed objects and surfaces to prevent damage.
  • Calculate material quantities and estimate costs for projects.
  • Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, or other fillers.
  • Erect scaffolding and staging to access difficult areas.
  • Remove fixtures and equipment as necessary.
  • Apply multiple coats of paint according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Tape off areas when necessary.
  • Apply touch-ups or second coats as required.
  • Remove paint splatters and clean equipment.
  • Utilize spray guns for large projects.
  • Work at heights to reach high ceilings or walls.
  • Spray painting for desired outcomes.
  • Apply membrane and waterproofing coatings for protection.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand and deliver on their design visions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Work effectively within a team to achieve project goals.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Painting and Decorating or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of prior industry experience.
  • Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or proper working rights in Australia.
Desirable Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
