Senior Medical Scientist/Sleep Laboratory Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Scientist/Sleep Laboratory Manager to join our team in the Paediatric Medicine department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the Sleep Disorders Laboratory, managing scientific and technical staff/activities, formulating policies and procedures, and ensuring the continuing quality of all services provided by the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the efficient operation of the Sleep Disorders Laboratory in collaboration with medical staff.
- Manage scientific and technical staff/activities within the laboratory.
- Formulate policies, procedures, and documentation for laboratory operations.
- Provide budget oversight and manage financial aspects of the lab.
- Ensure the continuing quality of all services provided by the laboratory.
- Maintain a patient-centered focus and ensure services meet patient needs.
- Ensure the laboratory meets and fulfills national sleep lab accreditation standards.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent.
- Comprehensive knowledge of respiratory physiology and quality assurance.
- Experience in a patient laboratory environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with staff at all levels.
- Experienced in documenting procedures and mentoring junior team members.
- A commitment to maintaining the highest quality of services and continuous improvement.
- Ability to resolve problems and implement new procedures when necessary or appropriate.
