Communication Officer Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to support the development and implementation of our communication strategies across various media channels.

The successful candidate will have excellent research and analytical skills, with a proven track record of producing high-quality content for various audiences. They will work closely with directors and team members to ensure consistency of content and messaging across all channels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To develop and produce multimedia content for reports, briefs, newsletters, video scripts, correspondence, and social media posts.
  • To undertake research to provide evidence-based content and inform our communication strategies.
  • To assist in the development of annual reports, organising conferences, workshops, meetings, training courses, and enhancing visibility of centres.
  • To edit and proofread communication materials and other documents.
  • To collaborate with team members to ensure consistency of content and messaging across all channels.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completion of an undergraduate tertiary qualification, with subsequent relevant experience.
  • Experience working with management in a complex environment, preferably in a research organisation.
  • Proven record of excellent research and analytical skills, particularly in agriculture, genomics, and biotechnology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish priorities and manage competing deadlines.
  • Able to work effectively and collegially in a team, as well as independently, with minimal support.

  • Occasional overseas/interstate travel/travel within the state may be required.
  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours when required.
  • Australian residency or possession of a valid visa with work entitlement in Australia.
