About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team at the Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Regulator. As an EL1 Engineer Professional, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of nuclear-powered submarines and nuclear facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nuclear safety and radiological protection principles
  • Provide expert advice on regulatory frameworks and government decision-making
  • Conduct regulatory audits, inspections, and compliance activities
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and identify relevant stakeholders' expectations and concerns
  • Contribute to ongoing self-improvement and professional development
Requirements
  • Sound knowledge of nuclear safety and radiological protection principles
  • Ability to apply expertise in regulatory frameworks and government decision-making
  • Strong decision-making and judgement skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
