We're seeking a dedicated Trades Assistant to join our team in Karratha. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about manufacturing, safety, and teamwork.

**Job Description:**

As a Trades Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our factory production operations. Your responsibilities will include assisting tradespeople, operating equipment safely under supervision, performing dogging and basic rigging duties, and contributing to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • ">
  • Adhere to our WHS policies, procedures, and safety programs, prioritizing the safety of yourself and others.">
  • Participate actively in Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Controls (HIRAC) and Safe Work Instructions (SWI) processes.">
  • Support production operations by assisting tradespeople and operating equipment safely under supervision.">
  • Perform dogging and basic rigging duties as authorized by your High-Risk Work Licence and site permit systems.">
  • Assist with crane and lifting operations under approved lifting plans, ensuring correct selection of lifting gear and compliance with permit to work and site lifting procedures.">
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.">
  • Perform minor equipment inspections, maintenance, and cleaning tasks.">
  • Complete accurate data entry and maintain associated documentation.">
  • Participate in daily production and pre-start meetings.">
  • Engage in quality control practices, including first-part checks and adherence to quality standards.">
  • Conduct basic manual handling, packing, and movement of materials and components.">
  • Notify supervisors of issues or hazards that cannot be safely resolved.">

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing, mining, or heavy industrial environment.">
  • A strong focus on workplace safety and risk management.">
  • Experience assisting with crane lifts, dogging operations, or overhead gantry crane use.">
  • BASIC mechanical aptitude and hand tool skills.">
  • Good communication and time-management abilities.">
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and workshop systems.">
  • Physical fitness and ability to handle manual handling duties.">
  • Willingness to work an 8/6 residential roster in Karratha.">
  • A valid High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF) and Dogging (DG).">
  • PREFERRED: A valid High Risk Work Licence – Rigging (RB or higher).">
