We are seeking an experienced Home Maintenance Officer to join our Inclusive Communities team at Maribyrnong City Council. The successful candidate will provide minor modifications, maintenance, and repairs to the homes of frail older persons or persons with a disability, ensuring a safe and habitable environment.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake urgent maintenance tasks to mitigate risks to clients, such as lighting issues or broken windows;
- Conduct maintenance that enhances consumer safety and independence, including falls prevention and modifications;
- Perform non-urgent work to maintain the environment and enhance consumer independence, such as pruning shrubs or repairing furniture;
- Undertake maintenance to reduce risks to safety or security, including fence repairs or tree trimming.
- Minimum of four years' secondary education and industry-based training or on-the-job experience;
- Previous experience working in a maintenance environment;
- Knowledge of safe work practices;
- Good communication skills, with a community language highly regarded;
- Ability to prioritize work and problem-solve.
- Work collaboratively in a friendly, supportive, and professional team environment;
- Enjoy a flexible and inclusive work environment;
- Contribute to a meaningful role within a values-driven organization;
