About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trade Supervisor to join our team at the Department of Communities and Justice. As a Senior Trade Supervisor, you will play a critical role in supervising inmates and staff in their work-related activities within a correctional centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Overseers and supervise and develop inmates through managing, coaching, instructing, and encouraging them, as members of a team, in order that they may improve their work skills, enhance their post-release employment prospects, and contribute productively to Business Unit objectives.
  • Manage, coach, instruct, and encourage inmates to improve their work skills and enhance their post-release employment prospects.
  • Supervise and develop inmates to contribute productively to Business Unit objectives.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Overseers.
Requirements
  • Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III level in the following): Engineering Trades, Metal Fabrication, Fitting/Machinist or similar related Trades.
  • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice in accordance with specified CSNSW timeframes.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role.
