Career Opportunities Specialist

A challenging and rewarding role that involves working with young people to help them achieve their education and employment goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of young people referred through local services.
  • Co-design career profiles and employment plans with each participant.
  • Provide hands-on support with job searching, applications, and interview preparation.
  • Partner with employers to open opportunities and provide workplace support.
  • Maintain strong connections with education providers, employment agencies, and community services.
  • Deliver culturally safe, youth-friendly services that empower young people to succeed.

Experience with the IPS model and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people is highly regarded.

Requirements:
  • Has qualifications and/or experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, youth work, career development, or a related field.
  • Is passionate about working with young people and has an understanding of the challenges they face in our region.
  • Knows issues affecting people with mental health in accessing work and study.
  • Has excellent engagement skills and can build relationships with young people, employers, and community stakeholders.
  • Has a current driver's licence and is able to travel as needed.
