Job Title: Project Manager/Mechanical Engineer

Hofmann Engineering Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of heavy equipment, serving top-tier clients in the resource, mining, aerospace, and defence industries. We prioritize continuous improvement through benchmarking and invest in staff training and development to maintain our position as industry leaders.

We seek highly motivated, self-starting Project Engineers/Mechanical Engineers/Project Managers with 2-5 years of experience in similar roles. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, CAM, Windows, Word, and Excel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage engineering calculations, design, reports, estimating, planning, and execution of heavy and high-precision engineering equipment manufacture.
  • Execute multiple work fronts and manage jobs within an ERP system.
  • Liaise effectively with customers and vendors.
  • Work and manage jobs as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
  • Develop specifications for manufacture, determine materials, equipment, piping, material flows, capacities, and layout of plant and systems.
  • Organise and manage project labour and delivery of materials, plant, and equipment.
  • Establish standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
  • Inspect plant to ensure optimum performance is maintained.
  • Direct maintenance of plant, buildings, and equipment, and coordinate requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules.
  • Receive customer enquiries, negotiate with customers, and communicate prices and estimated delivery times according to company procedures.
  • Carry out contract reviews, prepare detailed scopes of work, and issue job instructions.
  • Maintain document control procedures and drawing control procedures.
  • Ensure safety standards are adhered to and safety is a prime consideration in planning work scopes.
  • Schedule jobs to meet quoted delivery dates and monitor progress of all managed jobs.
Qualifications:
  • Australian bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent degree accredited by Engineers Australia.
  • Trade or engineering training of not less than 4 years.
  • Proficient computer skills, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, CAM, Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, teamwork skills.
  • Able to work with limited supervision, follow directions, willingness to learn, and results-oriented while maintaining attention to detail.
